Woman and grandson reported missing in Fontainebleau - NOLA.com

The NOPD is looking for a missing 78-year-old woman and her 7-year-old grandson who disappeared Sunday morning in the Fontainebleau?neighborhoood.

Sarah Birney and George Deblanc were last seen walking their dog around 11:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Fern Street, according to a police press release.

Birney might be suffering from early onset?Alzheimer's disease, and her grandson has been diagnosed with autism and is in need of medication, police said.?

Birney is described as?5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing around 125 pounds with gray hair. She was last seen wearing brown sweatpants and a maroon windbreaker. Deblanc is described as?3 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 65 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing plaid pants and a gray T-shirt.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Sarah Birney and George Deblanc is asked to call the New Orleans Police department at 504.821.2222.
